Bill, aka "Super-Quad" is a 12 time National Champion and a Current World Record Holder. He is never satisfied with existing performances, he's always looking to set a record.
Bill works at
Bell South as a software development manager when not skiing. He
is also an Honorary National Director of WaterSkiers with Disabilities
Association (WSDA), serves on the WSDA Bylaws Committee, the Technical/Rules
Committee, and he's the IPC Wheelchair Sports & USOC Liason (as part of the
International Activities Committee of WSDA) Among the skiers Bill's also known as "Turbo"; accompanying Bill to the '99 Worlds was the cutest "Furby" any of us had ever seen . . . she was only 6 weeks old and an absolute traveling trooper:) That's baby Meredith Furbish in KeNyA's arms. (She didn't have enough hair to dye.) You can see Daddy isn't too far away! We may have been in England, but he's drinking good old Coca Cola. She's even cuter now, and we learned she's expecting a sibling a little later
this year (2001)! That's Bill and Meredith at the 2001 Worlds (she sure To the right is Mrs. Furbish (Kathy) and Meredith. Perhaps in part to
the support of his family Bill did well at Worlds. Not as well as he
wanted, but conditions just didn't permit much better performances that what
were witnessed. Bill won the Gold for Overall, Gold in Jump, Silver in Slalom and Bronze in Trick. There seemed to be an error in the medals presentation for Bill's Trick division. Bill said he didn't say anything because he'd never won a third before and didn't know how they did things for third. (Bill has either won gold or silver before, Bronze was something he wasn't used to:) In addition to his skiing greatness Bill exposes any and all to the sport of waterSkiing. He introduced fellow TEAM mates Stephany Glassing and Aric Fine to the sport of waterSkiing. Aric's a World Champion/World Record Holder, Steph's planning on setting a World Jump Record at the 2003 World Championships . . . hopefully she'll get decent conditions so she can meet her goal:) |
