The Ropemaster - James "Brewster" Thompson is a motivational speaker and former track star who reaches out to kids. He works with organizations like The Merton Hanks/Eddie Taylor Football Camp to motivate America's youth to reach beyond what they know and become their individual best. Pictured here with our pal Spanky Luna (on Brewster's left hip as you look at the photo) Brewster performs one of his many feats, he also jumps rope with a 50 pound chain, while an adult male over 250# rides piggyback. Brewster has received national recognition via talk shows and news reports. He and Neva attended North Salinas High School together way back in the 70's., 1970's that is. We'd be happy to connect you with him. (Photo by Neva Brett)
John Dutra, Kent, Neva and KeNyA after a great day of skiing. ![]() That's former KeNevA Ski Club Member Paul Hildebrant after his first Polar
Ski Day (January 1, 1999), which is always a no wet suit, no drysuit
event. Paul, like the rest of us, shivered and whined about the cold water
and air temperatures; later that year he moved to Oregon . . . cold water and
air temperatures. We take no responsibility for his move.
Paul's has pretty much given up his slalom skiing for show skiing, performing in
several shows with his new club, the Portland Water Spectacular. They tried to set a World's Record last
year for most people up behind the boat.
KeNyA learned to barefoot in 1997, "Animal" decided it looked
fun. He didn't know how he would accomplish it (a surgical accident left
him unable to walk) but he knew he'd try. He can't get in the traditional
position, so he barefoots on his shins. Disabled? Really it's
more of where there's a will - there's a way! (Photo courtesy Nancy Magnelli.)
That's Nev-A-Mom who knows tricks aren't just for kids . . . looks like she's planning on some kind of trick as she pulls back in to the wake. With her level of experience on a wakeboard, the trick might just be to stay on top of the water:) (Photo courtesy Cindy Sandhagen.) Click on a link to see more pictures.
