Pond Farewell Pics 2

Although she probably won't remember it forever, here's our granddaughter Morgan in her Daddy Honey's (Brice's) arms with her Auntie KeNyA  (she calls her "My KeNyA") right alongside her.  KeNyA skied in her Daddy Honey's arms as a little one, and on her brother Bricey's shoulders too.It was a time for

reconnecting one last time at the pond.  On the far left is Jeff Hindman, Brice's best high school friend & former KeNevA Floors & More employee, Mark Turner in the middle and Brice on the right.  Brice and Jeff have been out of high school ten years now and miss some the rough and tough football action they used to enjoy.  They got lots of physical action that day, the three of them absolutely thrashed one another.  Jeff went way out on a whip, and then turned full speed back into Mark and Brice.  It was a move that'd make any Kamakazi pilot proud, the force hurled the three of them and their boards into the air and spread them all over the pond. They did that all day long, I mean when they weren't skiing.  Jeff was sore for days, Mark was too, Brice claims he wasn't hurting.

Another little family game enjoyed by most is "King of the Dock",  during this game, unless you want to get wet you must avoid the dock, anyone on it is fair game . . . and if you happen to be Nev-A-Mom it just doesn't matter where you are, they still get a big kick out of throwing "Mom" in.  KeNyA's keeping watch on Chris (in the shirt) and Brice knowing they could turn on her in an instant.

That's what happened to Brice right here, busy wrestling Chris he didn't see Steve coming, Steve went too though, I mean you can somewhat salvage your dignity when your challenger goes in with you.  Um have a nice swim Bricey:0  Right around this time Chris' friend AJ was standing on the far left of the dock, watching Brice get ready to toss KeNyA, then he say Kent rushing towards the end of the dock, AJ thought Kent was going to save KeNyA, toss Brice.  AJ took his eyes off Kent to watch the end of the dock action and splat HE was in the water!  AJ was Kent's goal all along, as soon as AJ's eyes left Kent, Kent turned and drilled him right in the chest!  It's all good because it was hot (102) and the water somewhere in the 80's.

Remember what I said about anyone on the dock being fair game?  It looks like Brice (left) and Chris (right) were at it again, Kasey, a high school pal of KeNyA's, went in too.  People were throwing Kasey in all day, everyone thinking she was someone's little sister when in fact she's an only child.

We get some skiing done too!  KeNyA and sister-in-law Cindy wake boarded together for the first time. We didn't get a shot of these two and Steffie on their boards (Steffie had decided to learn to wakeboard). They had no desire to thrash one another, they just enjoyed the ride.

Speaking of enjoying the ride, Brice was 14 when KeNyA was born, Steph & Jobe near 11, Chris near 10 . . . KeNyA was a family toy.  They tossed her up in the air, across the swimming pool, had her sit on their hands and shot put her as far into the water as possible.  When she was 3 they had her jumping out a 9 foot window onto an airbed to see how high she'd bounce!  (We didn't know about that until after the fact, they all stood around the sides of the bed to catch her as she bounced off.) She loved it all and now she does it herself.  There she is on the trampoline, playing like she's done all her life.

KeNyA makes the trampoline look so fun Gramma Neva and Morgan played too.  (We have a 1 person on the trampoline at a time rule, except with little ones.)

Meanwhile, out on the water are KeNyA and Brice wakeboarding without Morgan.  My, my my, Bricey's quite different with his little sister and his little daughter.  That's Kent's truck in the background, it's an icon.

Yes we do ski, the Slalom God you see to the right is Brice.  He, Cindy and Morgan live in Redding.  He called Kent a little earlier this summer from his own ski dock, still wet from his ski ride, to share a personal ski best with Dad (3 1/2 buoys at 39 off).  Skiers look at a photo like this like most men look at beautiful women.  Wow, he's so perfect it's almost unreal. In the scoring for slalom skiing form doesn't count, only buoys do.  But beauty is beauty even non skiers can see.  In our dreams we ski like our Bricey.

All photos (except the one of Cindy and KeNyA) were taken by our Cindy Sandhagen.  We loved her so much we voted and (except Brice) informally adopted her as a daughter and sister a couple years before she and Brice married.

Here's an extra tidbit!  Today, October 20th, 2001 Brice phoned me (from Redding)  to tell me he had someone with him that'd done something today I'd love to hear about.  Jeff got on the phone and told me Brice was standing near the edge of the dock, FULLY CLOTHED, without sunglasses (we do use care with the game, sunglasses are expensive) and very unsuspecting . . . yep you guessed it . . . Jeff drilled Brice into the water!  Yippee Skippee!  You see, once Brice grew bigger than me he dominated "King of the Dock".  Our other children were 4 and 5 years younger, KeNyA's 14 years younger than Brice, they hardly stood a chance for years.  Yippee Skippee, and a heartfelt THANKS JEFF for all of us who've been tossed in by Brice over and over and over again!
