Aaahh, isn't that something we'd all like to know? Great scholars, philosophers and religious leaders have spent lots of hours and money trying to find the answer to that question. Well folks, seek no more! A very wise and gentle man (John Reid, Manager of the 2001 US DisAbled WaterSki TEAM) explains the Secret of Life in Ten (10) simple Two (2) letter words. "If it is to be, it is up to me!" It sounds too simple to be true doesn't it? It's very easy to dismiss these simple little words, this simple little truth as "THE REAL SECRET OF LIFE". Yet think it through. What it means is that it's your attitude that's most important. There will be many, many times throughout a human life that are filled with strife, anxiety, fear, helplessness, loneliness, lack of money, etcetera. There will be catastrophic times and euphoric times. No matter what befalls you, you always, always, always have a choice about your attitude. The miracle, the magic, is internal. You can be in financial distress, having spent the last of all the money you have, haven't worked in weeks (because there was no work), the phone bill's due, energy provider's wanting to be paid, and your child needs lunch money or milk for breakfast . . . how will this little saying help then? It's simple, first off accept that you need some change in your life (obviously you'd be needing a financial change right then), then realize that you are the one that must make the change. If you can do nothing more in the moment than believe things will be better, somehow, someway, you've made progress. You've seen your life is not hopeless, because no life is hopeless. We look to be fulfilled, to feel as though our life has mattered, to measure up to whatever it is we're supposed to measure up to. We are supposed to measure up to ourselves friend. Instinctively we know the difference from right and wrong, whether or not our parents, our boss, our mate, our children or our communities are watching. We know. To make our souls feel satisfied we must give them what they seek, our own personal truth. So your own personal truth is up to you. It's up to you to seek it out and then do whatever you're supposed to do with it. When you fall over, or fall short, get up or crawl along and get back to your personal life task. For when you die, you alone must evaluate your life, it doesn't matter that God'll forgive you (that's a given) . . . it matters that you forgive you. In order to achieve that state, live that way. Your future, this day . . . it's all up to you to make the best of it. If it is to be, it is up to me. Do you want to be happy, "successful", do your want your choice for President to win, it's all up to you friend:) Enjoy!
